These are veneered wood. It's hard to argue against them at this price, but if you are a little older with an established residence it might make sense to buy a real wood set.

I spent many hours researching this a few years ago. I bought the below set for $78.66 in 2019. They cost too much right now as the great corporate shafting of pandemic America continues, but at $100 they are a solid buy. The only thing better I could find in 2019 was a wood set built by the Amish, but they were nearly $500.

If you need them now, this cheap set from Target is a nice holdover.
Gramma and pop-pop will be thrilled.

Thanks for the info and link. I also use the Winsome trays for the past 3 years and they have held up well. These tray tables have been of great help with our kids. We used them a lot during virtual schooling with their laptops. It also provides additional space for papers and books when they work on the home PC to complete homework. Of course it's main use is still to put the dinner/snacks when watching movies/TV. It folds up and erects very quickly and the holder allows all the trays to take up minimal space when folded away and stored.

Anybody considering using these consider this:
Family meals together together at a table are more valuable than anything in this world. Try it

If you don't need 4 tables and can fork out a bit more $, I would recommend going with something like these instead, much sturdier, bigger and better. You can bring in these tables closer to you without the awkwardness of the X legs on this post.

Problem with those is the don't fold or store away easily.

These will match my main coffee table where I Velcro my remote down too so I don't loose it.

I've wondered, over the years, why we call these "trays tables" or "trays" even when there's little about them that's tray-like. Shouldn't a tray have raised sides? Isn't a flat tray table just a table?

The world may never know.

Meh,don't be cheap. These [amazon.com] are bigger and sturdier still, and they fold up.

I just saw a different wood color still at that price. Honestly, if you want buy it for life, that's not a bad price. You may have to order two sets to get four tables that weren't banged up in shipping, so if you have to do a free return on one, it's insanely fair. I'm really happy with my teak ones, and I'm expecting them to last longer than I do.

Damn old school. I probably have a better set deep in my attic somewhere. 1 or 2 good for temp side tables in dorms or travel housing - seems like 4 is out of date like an armoir...
