Any data sent would likely be encrypted between your phone and CarPlay. This would not have an independent internet connection to send data anywhere.

No, this only converts a car or headunit with existing CarPlay functions to wireless CarPlay. It does not add CarPlay to a unit that doesn't already have it.

This was used on Ford sync 3.3 with no issues until iOS 15.4. It now has correct audio, but the visual lags by a couple of minutes until the whole thing crashes and returns to sync. It only comes back after being power cycled. If you plug in a route it is more stable but not as it was. I have read where this is reported by many after their IOS update but no ETA from Apple on a fix.
Just letting folks know in case they have the same problem upon receiving the device.
