Quick facts, this is a Modem and a Router in one, which is refereed to in internet/network talk as a "Gateway". This does not provide a spot for phone service if you use Comcast home phone service. The wireless router portion of it is very old technology AC1900. There seems to be a discrepancy between the refurbished and the BNIB version of this product the refurbished is listed as DOCSIS 3.0 while the new is listed as DOCSIS 3.1 which is a big difference, if its a typo in the description and they are both DOCSIS 3.1 then this should work on plans up to 800/900Mbps with Comcast if they are DOCSIS 3.0 then for Comcast it would be for plans under 500 Mbps.
Is this a good deal, not so much since you can get new 3.0 Modems without the outdated wifi for same price or cheaper. If its actually DOCSIS 3.1 decent deal for the modem by itself I would not be using the wifi portion unless your in a pinch and would still buy my own router for wireless in the home.
