I am in need for a new monitor and I game mainly call of duty on a 1080 24 inch IPS. I already ordered the 32 inch 1440 dell VA so want to know if 27 is the sweet spot or this is a great comp for FPS and overall day to day?

I had this monitor and had to return it. The black smearing/ghosting was absolutely terrible.

Weird. You might have had a dud. I don't have any of that. I bought 2. Shrugs with confusion. Monitors are pretty hit or miss even today.
