You need to insure this thing? Or do you mean you need insurance for it just incase it blows into someone's house and you need to pay for the damages it might cause?

If you need customer service for something like a pop-up canopy, you have other problems.

Well, in actuality, someone may need customer service for something of even less cost/value than this item... Sometimes items don't arrive, or the wrong thing is shipped, etc. So I can see where the member is coming from on that end. Hopefully won't have that problem, however!

I think if you have a chase debit card you also get 5 percent back up to 3 bucks. Every little bit helps I suppose

Will this last longer than a season?
If you are meaning you will leave it up all day long every day from the first nice day until it gets cold again, I would not count on it. These are temporary shelters meant to be up for a week long camping trip at most, really intended for a barbeque or party where extra shade is needed. The constant UV rays and weather will break down the fabric quickly and I would not expect it to last more than one season under those conditions.

You need an umbrella policy for that.

A popup tent is not technically an umbrella, though.

I'm on my second unit. First one lasted 3 years until the canopy started ripping. We're in the Midwest so have to take it down every winter. I'm sure that contributed to the wear and tear. Also, we use it on pavers so no option to tie-down, had to use weights. Make sure you check the screws each time you open/close them as I've had a few pop out. We've never actually used the netting, but it's nice to have. For 70 it's worth it as long as you manage expectations.

This is meant to be put up and taken down shortly after, like same day. The more permanent solutions are sturdier, but even then, you should take those down because of either/and/or snow, sun, and dirt in general.

laugh out loud Tumbleweed

Well, I could see where insurance could be considered if it were just a couple bucks though, so that if it *didn't* quite hold up over time, could be replaced with no extra cost besides those few dollars, therefore stretching out the value of the deal
Am I an idiot to think the insurance is for future issues with product parts or repairs of said item? Like you buy for tvs & other items in case of future issues

I bought one last year for around the same price it only lasted a few weeks. The support beams or whatever you call it started to bend with semi strong wind. So unlike me i would highly recommend for you to get the insurance on it.

Goodluck on return shipping fees if you dislike the product in person
Couldn't you just take it to the store yourself?

For 60 bucks well worth it. Even if you only get a few usages out of it.

What's with all the reviewers saying it was part of some sweepstakes thing?

I've owned two. One broke the other is in the carry pack. I live in MN and it doesn't handle the wind well. Has to be taken down in storm. Our first one broke in a storm. Good for camping. But not for home use unless you like to be taking it down frequently.
