These cards aren't worth $100. Performance worse than cards from 2 generations ago. Unless you are absolutely desperate and only play low-end games at 60 FPS, just get something better. This thing was an insulting money grab.

I think for the times it's not a bad price. Obviously it beats buying a used 1060 somewhere, but if you can find a 1660 for cheaper I'd stick with that.

What do you guys think about cheap mining GPU cards floodding the market should BTC crash further?
BTC isn't mined on GPUs.
You are thinking of Eth and crazy alt coins.
If you are saying these other coins die when BTC drops, I suppose you are mostly right
Typically they've got tons of hours on their fans and might come with weird firmware for memory tweaking and lower core clocks because memory bandwidth is usually the primary goal followed by reduced power consumption.
Personally I stay away unless I have someone who has almost no budget or it's throw away priced. I bought a 8GB RX470 on eBay for $80 between mining booms. It was mostly fine. When I had the opportunity to flip it for almost $400, I did.
The "best" part is the potential flood of cards will depress demand for brand new cards and bring prices down. At that point, I feel investing in a new card - ideally from a line that is post mining bust so if you RMA you don't get an old mining card in return - has some reasonable value.
That's not the answer for every situation though. Maybe I just have a Media rig, or am on a extreme budget. This card will get you decent FPS in 1080p for most stuff. If you were looking for best bang for your buck, this isn't it.
The advantage of a new card is HMDI 2.1, meaning 120Hz 4k in your 2D applications. Older gens are all HDMI 2.0 and cannot do that except on displayport, and most TVs don't accept displayport.
It IS important to know though that this card is kinda hobbled when running PCIe 3 and so its best to use it in PCIe 4 capable boards if ya can.
But otherwise, I'm not really sure why so many people feel a need to bash the low end cards generally or the 6500xt specifically. I guess its just moral outrage?
Yes this card is not as good as more expensive cards. Isn't that always so? Pay more and ya get better.
Yes this card is over priced. But all cards are currently over priced still really.
But this card is better than anything cheaper. (saving used stuff)
If I'm wrong there then please do point to another new sub $200 card that out will out perform it.
I grabbed this as I have been running the Intel UHD 730 waiting on these ridiculous prices to drop. Paid $250 for an Xbox Series S, which is an entire game system. Stupid I have to pay about double that for a descent gaming video card. I play mainly 10+ yr old games, so this will run those at max settings over 100fps. If you play new games, then yes get a 6600, 6600XT, or whatever as this will not run well.

7 years and a pandemic between that and this sounds about right.
