i would feel more comfortable with a costco purchase
Was tempted by the dryer, but reviews say the controls go out. Also, there's no light inside. Guess I'll keep using my 20 year old gas dryer that keeps plugging along.

I have 15 year old Whirlpool Duet, never had an issue. I guess the new ones aren't as good? It's nice to have a light in the dryer in case you're looking for a particular item. For example, my kids digging through it to find karate uniform at the last minute.

I agree - I have 6 Duets still in service after 15 years (used in commercial setting 6hrs/day, 5 days/wk). Mostly easy to service. Main board went out on one Monday (probably not worth replacing). Will find out if these are as bad as they say, especially in a harsh environment. Thanks, OP, for the timely post!
