Been arguing with wife on this. Be aware, these have horrible reviews but the price is right...

Was tempted by the dryer, but reviews say the controls go out. Also, there's no light inside. Guess I'll keep using my 20 year old gas dryer that keeps plugging along.

Love it!

Yeah apparently they break often. Waiting for a decent LG Turbo wash model to go on sale.

this seems like a good deal but the comments above make me wary. I thought whirlpool is suppose to be pretty decent.

Why do you need a light?

I have 15 year old Whirlpool Duet, never had an issue. I guess the new ones aren't as good? It's nice to have a light in the dryer in case you're looking for a particular item. For example, my kids digging through it to find karate uniform at the last minute.

I agree - I have 6 Duets still in service after 15 years (used in commercial setting 6hrs/day, 5 days/wk). Mostly easy to service. Main board went out on one Monday (probably not worth replacing). Will find out if these are as bad as they say, especially in a harsh environment. Thanks, OP, for the timely post!

Any argument with the wife is pointless. Just give up.

The cost to fix it when it breaks, is the same price as new. But most of the time the fixes are easy, like replacing Lego. Don't get rob by repair con artists. All parts are on Amazon for a fraction of what the repairmen quotes

Other way around. Wish I never talked my husband into getting a washer from lowes because it was such a slick deal. 2 months later and I absolutely hate it! He was right... should have just fixed our old washer and waited for something better as well as from Costco for the return policy and warranty.
