Yes, Costco version is way better as the 2TB version has two 1TB m.2 installed. I'd rather get the Costco version for $1099, and then pop a 2TB in the second slot for $200, and still save $100 over the BuyDig version. I'll take Costco any day just for the 90 day return policy, as well as upgraded warranty.

Also, the RAM on these is not upgradable. This is LPDDR4x memory, which is never upgradable. I had the Gram 17 with upgradable RAM, but that came with an 8th Gen i7 that was quite slow. They may have continued offering upgradable RAM for another generation, but discontinued it with the switch to LPDDR4x as expected.

Just be aware that if you do ANYTHING to the machine, including adding or changing the SSD that Costco will say your warranty is void! I learned that the hard way.

Oh really? How would they find out if you returned it back to stock config?

If that was your experience, it seems like it would violate the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. To invalidate a warranty claim, the warrantor generally must demonstrate that your modification led to the product malfunction requiring repair.

I have heard others say they got shafted the same way (including people here on SlickDeals).

I wish someone would sue them over this... I have had them refuse service on multiple laptops for the most absurd reasons.

Most laptops have tamper-evident screws on the back and you have to break the "seal" to open them up.

I have no experience with LG laptops, but I can say from experience that their refrigerators and dishwashers are complete crap!

For a 4-core CPU in 2022? Imo there are better and more powerful laptops out there. Asus Vivobooks/Zenbook with newer processors and similar configurations will blow this out of the water. This maybe have been a half decent laptop two years ago but this last-gen CPU that is slow and drains your batteries fast is not a deal in 2022.

Are these still with glossy screen I love my gram 17 with 10th gen cpu but hate the glossy screen with passion lol.
The new ones coming out will have anti-glare screen. That's a big upgrade like you mentioned. In addition to 12th gen CPU's and a light GPU option. They won't be cheap, but I hope there's a $500 or so off coupon come Black Friday. Seems to be the norm in past years.

There's always someone who come to the LG Gram threads to say there is better out there. The LG Gram is in its own class and can't be compared. If you don't need an ultra light with a 17" screen, don't get this laptop. Simple as that.

I've got an 8th generation version of this laptop. Still going strong, highly recommend it!

"priced similarly" to launch prices of 11th - that's a big maybe. Similarly to current pricing? No.
