Yes, Costco version is way better as the 2TB version has two 1TB m.2 installed. I'd rather get the Costco version for $1099, and then pop a 2TB in the second slot for $200, and still save $100 over the BuyDig version. I'll take Costco any day just for the 90 day return policy, as well as upgraded warranty.

Also, the RAM on these is not upgradable. This is LPDDR4x memory, which is never upgradable. I had the Gram 17 with upgradable RAM, but that came with an 8th Gen i7 that was quite slow. They may have continued offering upgradable RAM for another generation, but discontinued it with the switch to LPDDR4x as expected.

I just got one from Costco and it's not a bad laptop but be warned, it's a very plastic feel. I mean for $1000+ I would expect the laptop to feel a bit more premium.

I was torn between this and the Thinkpad X1 but I think I may return this one and go with the Thinkpad. I know it's more expensive but comes with 12th Gen and very robust

Wow, can't believe it doesn't have a keypad, deal breaker for me...
But it does.... this laptop was similar to Toughbooks and their swappable modules.

I have heard others say they got shafted the same way (including people here on SlickDeals).

I wish someone would sue them over this... I have had them refuse service on multiple laptops for the most absurd reasons.
Quote from Avaaz :
If that was your experience, it seems like it would violate the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. To invalidate a warranty claim, the warrantor generally must demonstrate that your modification led to the product malfunction requiring repair.
This is basically among the same lines as the "Warranty Void If Removed" [npr.org] stickers.
It turns out they know it is illegal but they also know that the only way consumers will get justice is through a lawsuit.......Something most people won't do....

Wish it has 12th Gen CPU….
Recommend Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro, only the downside is OLED 1080P screen, but it feels pretty good, color is very bright; 16:9 not 16:10. However all other advantages: ~$800 after edu discount and 15% Ra_ku_ten cashback, 12th gen i7-1260P CPU, LPDDR5 ram, 5W speaker, better build quality, 15icnh version has second SSD slot for upgrade.

Very interesting link! Thank you. Yes, as I mentioned earlier, I really wish someone would sue Costco over this, or given the article you mention, turn them over to the FTC.

But, I suspect Costco will find other ways to effectively void the warranty... I had one laptop with them where the power brick went bad and it wouldn't charge. When I called Costco support they told me the first step in helping me was to run the reset procedure on my machine so that the hard drive was wiped. When I pointed out that was silly and could never fix a physical break and it would only cost me days of wasted effort setting up the machine again and reinstalling all my apps, they refused to budge. I even escalated the issue to management to no avail. It's like the whole purpose of Costco support is to waste your time until you give up and just buy a new machine.

As soon as you open up this laptop to change the SSD you will void your warranty. So keep that in mind.

Funny, I have no experience with their laptops either, but I've had an LG fridge going on 6yrs and never had an issue with it. Just bought a new house and went with LG again.

Found the dummy that didn't even click the link or look at photos. There's clearly a keypad on it.

I have never ever not upgraded a laptop that had upgradable slots for RAM or SSD/HDD, so that's not happening. The Gram 17 I had and also the Gram 15 I currently have does not have any warranty voided sticker or any way to tell that it had been opened, so I can just restore it to stock before warranty service.

Even if I bought this Gram 17 with two 1TB m.2 SSDs, I would still upgrade one or both of the SSDs to 2TB.

The new ones coming out will have anti-glare screen. That's a big upgrade like you mentioned. In addition to 12th gen CPU's and a light GPU option. They won't be cheap, but I hope there's a $500 or so off coupon come Black Friday. Seems to be the norm in past years.

I glad I got my at costco with extra warranty by using costco visa. It is my daily driver and it was the 512gb 16gb configuration and it was $1200. So far I have one tiny pixel size white spot and finger print sensor works worse and worse every time, most likely will see how the warranty extension by Costco works in this case. Other than that and glossy screen I love this laptop for speed, battery and weight obviously lol!

Interesting concept, didn't catch that pic in the review, thanks.
