PSA... I have Four (4) 6TB Toshiba drives in my Synology... they are loud, they click a lot. Running for 1.5 yrs without issues but just be aware.

model TOSMD06ACA600V :: 7200RPM Surveillance Class Hard Drive with 256MB Cache; Toshiba 3 Year Limited Warranty. They were on a sale for $95 each + tax back then.

Concur - my two MD04ACA500s are still going strong with 4.5 years run time. I had replaced them with larger, quieter running WDs as I was running out of space on my server, but brought them back into the pool recently for more capacity (appears an even larger upgrade is required).

Noisy - yes; but appear to be reliable, too. The clicking isn't audible from across the room (where my server is), but definitely so when you walk up to them.

My question is "Is this a slick deal?" And what makes it so?

On the one hand, this would be the highest price/TB I would have ever paid for a 10TB.

On the other hand, those better prices I paid were in 2019 ... and are we likely to ever see those prices again (within a reasonable amount of time)?

Or (3rd hand?), would like likely follow the rule that its will get cheaper over time when larger and larger drives become more common?

I have one of these with a few months on it and eight bad sectors already. Anecdotal of course, but I will probably buy something else next time.

I have a pair of 3TB Toshiba P300s in my homebrew server. Can confirm that they are loud. Can also confirm no issues with them powered on 24/7 for almost 8 years.
