FYI this is also going on sale at Costco starting 5/18 for about the same price
Uh, did anyone say anything about harassment? This is Slickdeals...we get our maximum bang for our buck by not being lazy. If I have the option to save a few bucks by POLITELY asking for an adjustment and it's literally okay by company policy, why wouldn't I try? If not, then no big deal. Worst case scenario, I could've just returned and repurchased them if they were unopened (which isn't the case). Do you work in the register in retail and bemoan doing basic stuff at your job?

Considering now with inflation dictating our daily lives for the worse, why not put that "$5" towards something else too??

Welp, time to get an adjustment seeing how I spent $20+ on them at Sam's a few weeks ago when we were down to our very last one (with no deals in sight). It felt "dirty" paying full price since I've only bought these on sale (back when they were even cheaper than this deal price).
You're really going to call and harass some poor employee because you paid maybe $5 more a few weeks ago?

Crazy that someone would take the time to do that. I don't understand if he bought it previously why they would adjust the price

That's simple: because he could simply return the ones that he paid $5 more for, get a (complete) refund, then immediately buy them again for $5 less. And it's not so "crazy": in the likely case that it's resolved in, say, 5 minutes, that's the equivalent of earning $60 per hour.

And per Nate's snarky "harass some employee" comment, it's part of their job and not "harassing" if done politely.

How's this compare to Finish Quantum?

I have a Samsung dishwasher and I find cascade platinum to be too strong/too much detergent. I found that my dishes smelled strongly of detergent and anything plastic or silicone would have the detergent taste embedded in the material that would then leech to food. I had to turn on the "storm wash" feature for extra rinse that took care of most of the issue except for the plastic/silicone. I do not have this issue with finish quantum and only use finish now.

These are inferior to Cascade Complete actionpacs in my experience.

I guess if $5 is worth calling the store and speaking to a manager for a price adjustment then more power to you.
Edit: and no I don't work at the register and "bemoan" doing basic stuff. But I do know if I bought something weeks ago and it went on sale and I used that product I wouldn't waste my valuable time calling the store to try and get a price adjustment for $5. It's a waste of time and my time is more valuable than $5.

They still are. Price is currently $15.82 at Sam's if you pick up, $16.98 if you have them shipped to you (I am a Plus Member, so free shipping)
I'm a plus member too and it shows $16.98 for both pickup & delivery which is still a great deal. I was only permitted to purchase 1, but not a big deal because before I run out it will be on sale again.

Does anyone know why stores no longer carry Cascade Platinum Plus?

I see the smaller 30ct package on Amazon but the larger 70ct has been MIA (sold by Amazon that is) for about a year

As said above, just purchase at the sale price and then return using your pre-sale receipt. Since Sam's does not have a time limit on returns, you can do this virtual "adjustment" anytime. Otherwise, I don't believe Sam's does actual price adjustments anymore -- you have to return and then purchase again.

I'm showing 16.98 (21.98 minus the $5 sale) for shipping, pickup or delivery (plus member).

how are you guys getting 15.80? is that in-store only, or a regional thing?
