Sure buddy no issues.
Even after one year my table top looked like it just came in.
You can watch a few YouTube videos if you want to see how to execute.
I used my garage, you should use some open area like a garage, but make sure it's not very dusty.
I borrowed saw horse from my friend, otherwise you can get two saw horses the foldable one from HD or Lowes.
Now, first step.
Use 150 grid sand paper to sand.
The butcher block comes one side with few imperfections and one side smooth. Use the sand paper to sand both sides to remove any small scratches, dents and other imperfections. I did good amount of sanding to make it really smooth. Though the butcher block comes in very good condition.
Note: as soon as you remove the packaging make sure to start working on it like staining and sealing within 48 hours. Because it comes sealed and if just keep it outside, then the wood will absorb all the surrounding moisture and may wraps.
1. Apply pre-stain wood conditioner. This may seems optional but, it's really help stain to spread and stick to the wood evenly.
I used this from Lowes you can go to Lowes and HD doesn't really matter and can pick any brand.

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Minwax-8.../999913771

2. Then, you can use stain color based on how dark, or light or natural wood color you want.
I used the below oil based stain.
But, I guess I select walnut color.
You can use brush, but I use the old rag clothes.
Basically you can use any cloth old cotton tees usually perfect which are lint free.
Also you just apply two to three coats.
Allow three to four hours to dry between the coats.
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Minwax-W.../999914241
3. Then, finally seal the butcher block that's very, very important.
Since I went with a bit of a shiny and glossy look I used semi-gloss polyurethane.
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Minwax-3.../999913667

You don't have to get a gallon size, just small size cans are enough.
I applied three coats of polyurethane.
I used fast dry so I don't have to wait long before applying the next coat.
Finally I kept it in the garage for 24 hours so that all the oil based stain and polyurethane smell will go away.

All the products are for your reference you can use any brand from HD and Lowe's
I used Minwax brand

Hope this helps.
Why does it matter if the desk is heavy? Are you carrying it on your back on the daily?
I got this in $250 or don't remember correctly a year back. After doing through research and shop around at Ikea, Nebraska Furniture and online.
At the same time I ordered Acacia 60"x30" butcher block from Lowes.
I spend two days for preparing butcher block by staining, sealing and finally used semi-gloss poly and it turned perfect, then assemble this desk with top butcher block.
Since that day onwards, I have received so many compliments and requests from family and friends to make one of them. Total cost $250+$165+$30 = $450 I have perfect size sit-stand workstation which I have been using day in day out. I usually adjust two to three times a day typically. The dual motor is very smooth and very silent. Set up with three different memory at different hights.
For this price its a steal.
Because I have seen the size and daul motor sit-stand desk cost anywhere from $800-$1200 which I have currently now.

I am just one person with an individual experience but I have owned two and both died on me on month 13 with standard usage (loaded with a hlver Ikea top and about 25lbs of stuff). I gave up after the second and purchased one with a longer warranty. More expensive but hopefully I get more than a year out of it. If a part fails out of warranty monoprice will tell you to kick rocks vs offer to sell a part.

Thank you for sharing your experience! That is important to consider. I heard that someone got a dual motor frame and a single motor frame from monoprice, after some time, the single motor frame is still working while the dual motor frame stopped working

I just finished one for my son with an acacia butcher top (3'x8') from a local store with a different stand that can lift up to 600 lb.

Where can I customize and order table top?

You can butcher tops from local hardware stores. Also, I found that you can get really good quality package tabletops from Uline.com also. Check it out.

A 6ft long butcher block is 50-60lbs.

Our 3x8 1.5" thick top weighs about 150 lb

Looks like a great price. Wanted a black frame but oh well. Anything in this dual motor category is atleast $300 everywhere.

That said what homedepot butcher block are folks using?
I just ordered this one from Lowe's:

I'm planning on going with the 72" x 39" x 1.5" version of the butcher block at lowes. It's $329/=

I am planning a dual monitor setup 34" each and that should be a good size.
Reviews are great as well - 4.55 out of 5 out of 60 reviews.

Any thoughts?

I did almost the same, but used a 1 3/4" thick red oak butcher block from Menards which cost $100. Very beefy and heavy but no problem for this monoprice thing. Didn't stain it, just went over the edges with a 1/4" rounded router bit, then thorough sanding and 5 coats of polyurethane.
Loving the result and highly recommend it for anyone who is up for an easy project.
Awesome and even the Red oak is dense and heavy wood I guess this dual motor stand wouldn't have any problem lifting it.
I thought about it, but then, I started looking into less dense and light weight woods, there are few like Bamboo and few others but, they were very expensive.
Eitherway I have a 34" monitors and office stuff still having lot of real state on my table.
And table never wobble or having issue lifting the weight.
