I've had good luck with PowerColor cards
Thankfully there are no rebates because my good luck never extended to those

Meh, near MSRP price, but based on recent RX 6600 XT price drop, this card should be more like $450. $100 premium for roughly 11% performance increase doesn't add up.

It's the difference between being able to play at 1440p and not.

But I think $500 is too much at this point. MSRP was only $480 and it's over a year old.

My rx6600 does just fine at 1440p

Really depends on the game, settings, and your desired FPS. I had a 6700XT and it was a pretty solid 1440p card, but I still had to turn down some settings to get 144hz in Modern Warfare. In the type of games I play the 6600 XT is not a 1440p card.

was this the price listed on the site for the open box? I'm seeing most locations listing them around the $450+ range

I must've gamed too much a decade or two ago. Consoles were at 30 fps and PCs were at 60fps. I'm happy with anything over 60fps, so my graphics budget stays pretty low.

Yep. That's totally okay. Just means that blanket statements like saying the 6600XT is a 1440p card is a very YMMV statement. Some people can use integrated graphics at 4k for the games they play. Extremely subjective. I have a 3080 Ti now and a lot of people including Nvidia call that a 4K card. But for how I play it's not good enough for 4K.

Yes, there was only one left at my store (Cambridge, MA) . It was listed at $500+ for a couple days, and dropped to $350.
