Looks like this one has the "infrared" grill plates. Greatly reduces flare-ups, provides more even heat, but they're a pain in the booty to clean. And I've definitely had the paint peeling issue on mine.

Decent deal. Got a similar model but with a side burner for $99 on a Home Depot sale a few years back. It worked great but got a grease fire in it recently that burned the propane line.

In the market for a new one but not having the side burner is a deal breaker for me.

I have one of these and it's hard to clean, and never gets hot enough. I'm about to throw it in the trash and just get a Weber one and call it done.

Most grills that aren't 1000 plus and are more than two burners only last two years or so these days unless you baby them and conditions are perfect. Might as well spend as little as possible if they heat even somewhat evenly... sad

Grabbed one Fri. Lot of junk out there for $300+, this is no top of the line, but decent, works great, like the even heat, for $119, can't beat it. Sandusky target had 3, One of the boxes said Tru infrared, the other two boxes looked newer, no mention of infrared instead it said Amplifier, same model number. Believe the older Tru Infrared has SS even heat grate. The Amplifier has same grates but they are the porcelain coated not SS. Heard Aldi may have same model for $129.

Spent $900 on a Weber Summit Series grill in 2005. Only replaced burners and two casters last spring. Still going strong.

I've had a version of this for going on 10 years. One suggestion I'd make it to replace the grates with this style

You can actually use the heat plate upside down, put the cast iron grate on that to cover the holes, and eliminate the PITA cleaning routine. Works well in my experience, is legit zero flare up, easy AF to clean.

I'm interested in doing this. but it says I need to buy 5 sets for this grill? So another $150+?

You'll want to check fitment of your particular grill. I posted that link as an example of the style of grates I was talking about. You'd buy however many plates you'd need to replace (ie: 1 to 1 swap). In the case of the grill in OP, you'd buy 3. Also, it's worth it to shop around for them. I got mine at under 20 per on Amazon.

New Webers are not the same quality like the older models.

Can anyone comment on this? I'm kind of curious as to whether this is a persistent issue.

why would u ever want to do this with such a low end grill?
If your house already has a natural gas hookup on the back patio, why wouldn't you want to use it, regardless of how high or low end the grill is?

I bought one of these at this price several weeks ago.

So far, seems like an incredible bargain. Get a grill cover to extend its life. But it's solid enough, plenty of grill space, and a great deal.
