Attaching pictures since I have this charger. So far have used it a few times and the charging time is amazing, though the batteries and charger do get quite hot. Keep it in a safe place away from kids.

What a ridiculous way to get rid of them.

Put them up on a myriad of for sale apps/sites and give them away if you don't want them. Someone will.

Reduce, reuse, recycle - note that REUSE is before RECYCLE.

Having many chargers is convenient in storm country, as you don't have to keep everything charged all the time, but if a hurricane/blizzard is headed your way, you have enough notice to load up a charger in every free outlet and get them ready.

I can't believe I'm asking this, but the app won't open the picture and I can't get the item number from such a tiny thumb nail. Can someone add the shelf tag info to the post, please.

Package does NOT say pre-charged, but the same 2300mAh batteries sold separately on Costco.com DO indicate that they are pre-charged (AKA LSD AKA Low self-discharge). It would seem very unlikely that Energizer is making 2 different 2300 AA "recharge" branded batteries, one being standard and the other being LSD. I think it is just a missed opportunity that the packaging does not state pre-charged. Maybe they figured "who is going to care if they're precharged if they come with a 1 hour charger"? Not everyone is a battery enthusiast who knows the difference.

Packaging indicates batteries Made In Japan for Energizer Brands, LLC. Individual batteries are marked the same.

Charger is made in China.

Made in Japan. There is only one LSD NiMH factory making AA cells in Japan.

I am not sure these Energizer rechargeable batteries are LSD. Energizer website claims charge retention of up to 12 months. Panasonic Eneloop claims 70% charge retention over 10 years. Just not sure if they are the same.

could be Energizer doesnt want the liability for these cells for ten years. or the cells tested 97/100 score whereas eneloops go 100/100, so they go to energizer for a discounted price. I look at it like food is 'expired on' but still good, or costco generic vodka, detergent, etc. i like the made in japan evidence on the package / battery - thats unlimited liability from a ambulance chasing lawyer.

Non LSD cells wouldn't make 12 months.
