I'm having a hard time understanding this post. And, you didn't put a link...
The A/C unit that is referenced in the link at Home Depot is available at Costco in stores only so there is no link to it on Costco.com.

Which Costco did you see it at? Also, do you happen to have the Costco item number? Definitely would rather call our local Costco to check than making multiple trips for possibly nothing.

I kept my eye on Midea 10000 BTU U-Shape Window Air Conditioner for a couple of months and I could not find any better deal than Costco In-Store. This link is not for U-Shape Window Air Conditioner. So, it is not correct link.

Damn I just got the 12,000 unit at Walmart a few weeks ago for 450.

10k would have been plenty Frown

Thing is so quiet it's insane. It's really just the blowing air that makes noise. On low it's super quiet

No banging when the compressor kicks on or off at all.

Ushaped keeps most of the noise outside and the window closes most of the around it.

Bracket included.

App is ok. Missing a lot of things that would make it great. Schedule program is lacking a lot of basic ability to tailor your own schedule.

Does not read humidity. Odd since it has a dry function but doesn't report humidity

Temps are wacky. Set at 69 and it makes my room 62-63. Set it at 65 and room reads on multiple independent sensors 56-58. All this on Low setting.

Going to be great in summer

Remote is ok. Nothing special. App is easier.

Best AC I've ever had

I bought one of the first units when they launched them in 2019(?). They are probably the best A/C I've ever used. Whisper quiet, powerful, efficient... These are just stellar.

Saw a few units in the San Jose store. I am so tempted to replace all the Danby U shaped units with the Midea U shaped ones. It was this price for the 8k BTU units last year. .

I was an early backer years ago with these.

They are VERY quiet since the compressor is outside behind a mostly closed window. They come with mount brackets as well.

The wifi connectivity is stable and easy. The app is good enough.

The danby units are made by Midea, it is essentially the exact same thing.

The filters are different and kinda defective as they don't cover the coils properly.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to install a U shaped AC in an horizontal sliding window? I was gifted one of these but it's been sitting in the box since I can't find a clean way to install it.

Any thoughts on the ushaped vs the non ushaped? Is either easier to install?

Have installed both types, the difficulty level are almost the same. u-shape is more pleased visually and less air leak due to much smaller gap to cover with thick insulation block vs thin slide plastic curtain of regular one.
