Anyone know how this would work with a roll up tonneau cover?
I have a different brand tent, but I do use mine with a roll up tonneau cover. You definitely have to account for it when you put together the tent but it's not terrible at least in my application.

Always toyed with the idea of getting one of these things. I just don't keep my truck stationary when I go places and I'm too lazy to set it up and take it down every day. The 8ft bed option is there but not on sale. With a tool box/truck box I guess I'd have to get the 6.5' one anyway. Tri folding hard bed cover would have to be taken off as well. Probably better than the tarp and air mattress that my buddy used to sleep in my truck a few years back because he forgot his tent.
Man this looks really cool but where am I gonna put all my stuff that's supposed to go in the back of my truck?
Yeah this is the reason I have never found these very practical. That and the fact that you would need to pack up your tent every time you wanted to go somehwere seems crazy annoying.

I have a different brand and yes, definitely an annoyance. It is nice to be off the ground and that you can easily level your tent, but the fact you're stationary is a big drawback.
Wow! This is weird. I just looked at this yesterday when the other tent popped up on SD. I like the idea of being able to sit on the tailgate and brush your feet off before crawling into the tent, and I like the idea of being off the ground, but I don't like having to take it down when you drive your truck, and I'm not sure my 6'1" frame would fit in my 5'5" truck bed. I guess with the tailgate down it would work. Anyone know how hard this is to put up and take down? Also I notice that it doesn't have a floor. Not sure I like that idea, and I wonder if wind blown rain could get under the sides and in the truck bed? Anyone have any experience with that?

I'm with you - I'm 6'-6" and wonder if it would even be worth trying out in my Tundra shortbed CrewMax.

Same logic with rooftop tents. I see truck bed tents as just a much cheaper alternative to the same concept. Bonus if you have a Tundra and can actually climb into the vehicle from the tent. Not enough trucks have big rear windows that roll down.
They also sell massive tents that enclose the back of an SUV or minivan and also provide floor space on the ground in addition to the vehicle interior. Setup is a pita, but it's a great idea.

Don't let the Instagram overlanders hear that, though. They know the key to followers is a $3k rootop tent at minimum
