The best thing about this mouse is dual connectivity through 2.4ghz adapter or Bluetooth.
It's very small, so if you have hands over 18cm long you'll have to fingertip grip it. Build quality is very good, new PTFE skates are great and software is nice. I think it's using the modified version of Pixart 3335 sensor which is positioned awkwardly low. Weighs only 68 grams, and battery lasts up to 200 hours in Bluetooth mode. In my opinion it's a great mouse to use with a laptop, but if you don't need Bluetooth there are much better options.

Just got this like 2 weeks ago when not on sale.
It is a nicely designed mouse, I like the shape and weight and weight distribution. The feet whatever it is does work greatly. But compliment pretty much ends here.
The software is okay - it contains "Moment" function which is useless to me, but can be turned off. The mouse function control is good however I can never make the light feature properly setup. Like if I turn them off, the mouse still lights up.
The battery life on this sucks a lot. I came from Logitech G experience, that my G305 runs months on AA battery and GPW runs weeks if not months between charge. Not Aerox 3 Wireless, I have to charge it about every 30 hours.
And the signal or receiver is the worst I have used. I don't think my environment is full of interference, and all of my other wireless peripherals works fine. Just this mouse, it disconnects once every a few hours.

In comparison, HyperX Pulsefire Haste is much better and in direct competition with Aerox 3. I have none above issues with Pulsefire Haste, and it is cheaper (at cost of no BT connection of course).

I have this mouse and the battery life issue isn't so bad because on the USB C after a scrim or whatever you play for 20 minutes, you can disc and be okay for a few hours.

That being said.

If you have the money to mod a g305 enough to reduce the weight down to 70 grams, you can always just hot swap batteries - but g305 will run you (lowest I've seen regularly is 35 dollars.
35 dollars for mouse
30 dollars for AAA lithium recharger + 4 batteries
plastic end caps for AAA to fir tin AA compartemnet = 7 -10 dollars
Main body mod - 15 to 20 dollaRS
Rear attachment mod-15 to 20 dollars

How is keeping these clean? I would imagine finger gunk gets into the holes and is a pain to clean out?

The 2022 model has 2 large skates that work great. Older model had 4 small round skates that were pretty bad. I agree that Pulsfire Haste Wireless is better, mine only weighs 50 grams after few mods. But it doesn't have Bluetooth so it serves a different purpose.

I bought this mouse for the same price over a month ago same price from microsoft. The mouse isn't that small it just looks that way, the mouse is extremely light. the RGB has a mind of its own. I've tindered with it in the software but, made no difference. Seems like once you turn it off and back on the mouse just goes on full RGB and ignores what you set it on. The software is probably way more frustrating to use than Logitech and Razer. The main selling point was the bluetooth or 2.4ghz option. I wanted to switch from work to personal use without having two different mice on my table. I often forget to turn off the mouse, when I shut off for the day. Within 2 days the battery is completely drained. Besides these cons, I am still happy with the mouse just have to figure how I can just shut the RGB off completely for good or desolder the (4) emitters on the bottom of the mouse. I could care less that it has RGB, once your hand is on it you can't see the lights anyways.

I have the snow version, it's a great mouse light and bright rgb. The only thing i hate is the Bluetooth is very unreliable. I didnt want to use the 2.4 ghz wireless but had to because the bluetooth had to be re setup all the time. Very annoying besides that great mouse

Can anyone comment on the software. I currently use a viper ultimate wireless and love it but want to get rid of razer synapses software for good. Is the software taxing on the system and is it aby good? Thanks.

This is great with my usb c powered wireless qi charger mouse pad. When the mouse needs recharging, I just move the usbc cable from the mouse pad to the mouse for 20 minutes. I was annoyed by other mice that have a dock or a proprietary charging cable.

I've never had a problem with that, but I'm a claw grip kind of person. Maybe if you palm it, it would be different.

Do yourself a favor and do not buy through SteelSeries. I had a nightmare RMA'ing the mouse because it kept dropping connection randomly (I had the Logitech 703 previously and it worked flawlessly)
When RMA'ing the mouse, they make you send proof of destructions (photos/videos of you breaking the mouse apart) or ship it back at your own cost. I've never seen a ridiculous policy like that before. I had issue with Logitech/Corsair mice in the past, they either made me ship it back or toss the mouse.
