In the SMKW product description it was stated specifically "D2 tool steel." I have never seen in any knife description where the D in "D2" stands for "dyed", care to share an example? Perhaps in some no-name brand from China where they made a false claim on the blade steel, but KA-BAR? I don't think so.
The post of TD's that I quoted is still up - it's downvoted so it isn't visible, but my post also correcting his misinformation was deleted, in which I quoted his post.
I want an explanation from the mods why my post was deleted.
This knife as it stands is too difficult for me to open. I have (I think?) reasonably strong hands. I've never gone toe-to-toe with a pickle jar and lost.
To that end - is there a way I can adjust something at the pivot point so that it opens a bit more easily?

It has a stiff detent in the in/out of a centimeter or so from the handle. More I've flicked it open, the easier it feels to thumb flick. Just keep breaking it in. but yeah not even a fraction as smooth as the rat II. I love the look though, and is very thin in hand and to carry.

Anyway, for clarity, just so that no one is confused, the original linked knife is indeed D2 steel, as advertised on Ka-bar's own site:

The list price on this particular model is higher than the similar-looking Dozier folders that have AUS 8A steel:

Also got this one, a bargain for $9.88: https://www.smkw.com/schrade-sent...39802112
I also have received the free True clipster, not bad at all as well.
