This projector is both good for bright living rooms as well as dedicated theater rooms, the LG primarily will only be good in a dedicated light controlled room cause of the low lumens.
This projector has 3-D the LG does not, both have HDR, both do no have HLG.
The other major difference this uses a standard light engine so lamps that need to be replaced depending on usage/settings (4000/8000 all the way to 15000 hours), while the LG wont need one the whole time you have it. If you use the different eco mods on the Benq you might not ever need one with it either.
Cool feature of the Benq it has a little compartment with a 3rd HDMI so you can plug in and power any type of HDMI video stick/fire stick/roku/whatever else you got and it also has a power port there too. Originally made for their own media stick but it will work with any.
Hardware wise this also comes with HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 and HDMI eARC.
In short this projector is a great projector for anyone whos not sure what to get but know they will be gaming a lot. Out of the box it has good picture but it could use calibration to make it a great picture for those who actually are cinema types. Also wanted to add this is considered a standard long throw projector, not a short throw like the TK700STi, around 9 feet back to get a 100" screen to put it into perspective for people wondering.

IT can do 4k/60hz, 1080p/120hz (for gaming consoles) or 1080p/240hz (for pc)...this is the limitation of HDMI 2.0b and the DLP chip itself. The 0.47" DLP chip currently used in all of these "budget" 4k DLPs doesnt support HDMI 2.1 quite yet, they are trying to come out with a new DLP chip to support HDMI 2.1 but it looks like next year or 2024 even before that ever comes to fruition. Projectors always lag behind the tv market in things like this so shouldn't be surprising. That being said, dont avoid it because it doesnt have HDMI 2.1 - 4k/120 because your console isnt really doing that anyways. You'll be gaming at 4k/60 or 1080p/120 on a console.
The biggest drawback to this projector is no vertical or horizontal lens shift. Which means you need to be perfect setting it up in the right place otherwise you might need to use keystone correction and if you have to use keystone correction you cant use the projectors "fast" mode in gaming which cuts input lag in half, so be aware of that...it is NOT easy to setup a projector perfectly with no lens shift at all, this also has a 110% offset vertical, which means if mounting on ceiling it needs to be ABOVE the projector screen.
Also last thing to keep in mind is this is a gaming focused projector, so if you mostly watch sports/movies other things and do a little to no gaming, you'd be better off with a home theater focused projector rather than a gaming projector for more accurate colors.

Whats so funny, if you think thats not good, you dont know anything about projectors? That is one of the fastest input lags for a projector especially in 4k.

Great response. Rather than search, I'll just ask you: does it support any gaming features like variable refresh (VRR) or low latency mode (ALLM)? Max refresh rate?

Can get as low as 4ms if you drop to 1080p/240hz mode.
