Both have VA panels. Upgrades to the 85X85J vs. 85X81CH include: a tad more brightness, 120Hz panel (quicker response time/better motion/judder handling), HDMI 2.1 features/support, ATSC 3.0 (NEXTGEN TV).

Can someone tell me if this is a nice tv? Looking for a little wow but we haven't bought a tv for over 12 years and know nothing about current tvs. I've seen a few that I liked in RCWILEY but have no idea how they compare. We are only streaming these days but we don't do gaming.

Oh it's 60 hz that's why. I bought my Sony 85 120 hz a year ago for 1500 and the price has gone up since then. TV is outstanding. Gotta be 120 hz to avoid any judder in my opinion.
