There is a hook to hang a weight to help stabilize it.
You can use it upside down (attach the camera at the bottom of the vertical section)
The thread on the vertical section is 3/8.the thread on the head is 1/4
I replaced the head with a video head though the head is probably ok for photos.
Indeed much better and more stable than the cheap ones yet reasonably priced.
Would buy it if I did not have one already.
