I originally bought the Ryobi 10" miter saw at HD for $169. It wasn't good enough for me so I saw HD has the Dewalt 10" miter saw for $249. I was going to exchange the Ryobi for that until I saw the Dewalt 12" miter saw deal at Lowes. My original plan was to buy it then sell the stand for $100 -$150 so I'll end up buying the Dewalt 12" for same cost as the Ryobi 10" miter saw. But after using it and knowing it's capabilities, I decided to keep it. 😂
So I went to the store and I bought this after talking to the Head cashier in the manager neither of them were willing to budge on giving me the better saw.
When I went to check out their system did not understand the discount and did not work so they had to manually edit the price down to zero and I smiled and said feed now couldn't you give me the nice saw and just do the same thing for me?
nope.
So now I have a receipt that shows me buying this for$269 after my discount...
There's a couple other line items that I purchased including a one penny dwx723 stand...
Kind of spitballing on the fact that I could probably take this receipt and this unopened saw back to the store and exchange it and I bet that would probably work out I might just have to try that... since the way they rang this up these look like different line items and I don't think they're going to ask for the stand back if I return the sawbecause of the way this is written... not sure.
Guess I could also sell this little cheaper saw and then go buy the one that I'd rather have and keep the free stand lol just a bit of a hassle to get what you want and I don't see any reason for it to be so complicated.

I was able to get Lowes to price match HD or Amazon for $256.47 thanks to a comment I found someone did that on a previous Lowes free tool deal on SD. Had I known that when I posted this, Amazon had this saw at $249 as stated by a comment above.
If you buy it at the store, their system doesn't have this deal set yet so you'll have to get them to zero out the stand like you mentioned. I too contemplated on returning only the saw to buy the Dewalt 10" but Lowes doesn't seem to sell those.
I don't know if you saw, but home depot has the dual bevel 716 12in model with the stand for 350, stand included. It's only good for a few more hours cause it's the deal of the day.

The stand is a beast! Can use for multipurpose with addition brackets. See this YouTube video.

This seems like a great deal.
If you have no interest in the stand, there are many other (but less valuable) DeWalt free tools to choose from when buying the saw.

I want a sliding version; the 779 is reasonably priced.. the 780 seems way more expensive for almost no discernable reason.
