If anyone is interested, you CANNOT get these working at 2K without using the eufy app.

RTSP will only work at 1080P via something like blue iris. It makes a big difference so be wary of that's what you're thinking.
Bought this last time when it was on sale. After selecting human only and lowering the sensitivity I still get a ton of false alerts.
This has not been my experience. They over night cameras and ask you ship the broken one back AFTER you receive new one. I had one stuck in night mode. They told me to keep it and use it until the replacement was set up and gave me a free label to ship it back out after.

No clue why you're being TD'd; I have to guess the negative marks are because some users aren't aware Eufy has mixed HomeKit compatibility and a few empty promises so, those who are aware of this and look for the HomeKit enabled Eufy devices appreciate your dropping this note.

Can you tell me what a home kit gives? I have a bunch of older eufy cameras with eufy home base that are home kit compatible but I've never used homekit before. I presume this integrates with my home base and eufy app just fine
If you're invested in the Apple HomeKit ecosystem, the Eufy cameras and accessories that are HomeKit certified can be added to Apple Home without any third party tooling such as HooBs, HomeBridge, et cetera.

One "benefit" of that integration is, you never have to worry about third party support or reliability as the devices are directly communicating with your HomeKit Hub (an iPad, AppleTV, or HomePod.)

Another benefit of that integration is the ability to use various sensors and devices in automation directly; not all sensors and devices are supported by thiryd party HomeKit tooling, though the developers really do their best to try to make things work.

The last benefit of HomeKit enabled devices is the ability to use HKSV (HomeKit Secure Video.) This is of interest to those who appreciate assurances around their privacy - HKSV is local encryption between the device and your iCloud account so no one can view or intercept your streams. Don't know why in the world you would get downvoted for this considering some of them are HomeKit compatible and it's not always clear. Thank you!

14 days isn't anything "new" it's been at 14 for a few years.
If it's Best Buy it's 15 days. If you were an elevated level in their loyalty program it was 30 or 45 days; they eliminated that this month. All else being equal, I'd be shopping elsewhere.

Bought the white version last year, worked perfect except that the human recognition sometime would give false alarm. This could be remediated largely via setting up the activity zone. Still, i wish the detection would be better via future firmware upgrade.

I am very happy with the camera. Big pro is there is no monthly fee whatsoever.

I believe this changed at some point in the past year. I see username/password on my RTSP devices (Indoor 2k cameras). In the Eufy app (Android, at least):

Camera settings>General>Storage>NAS (RTSP)>RTSP Security

You can enable authentication, and set username and password.
Thank you for your reply. However I searched Google when I found that eufy outdoor cam doesn't allow RTSP username and password . I found the same answer as you provided but there is no option for RTSP security in eufy android app. I just double checked. I hope they update the outdoor cam firmware in future.

how many cameras can you record to synology?
Synology provides two licenses when you purchase. When you want to add more you need to purchase the license but it's not cheap. Depending on model, there is some limitation for the number of camera due to CPU power and memory. I have one old and newer Synology NAS so I could record 4 cameras without purchasing additional licenses with two NAS. Blue iris could be more cost-efficient than NAS if you have many cameras.

Homekit integration (especially those that support HKSV) are pretty nice in a few ways. The ways that are important to me are things like one central location (Home App) for all home automation/smart home stuff, alerts that pop up on my Apple TV's (for example, if I'm watching TV and an alert pops up for the garage door opening, I can view the garage camera in just 3 clicks to see who is in the garage... same thing applies to a doorbell)

Also, with HKSV, if you have a paid iCloud account, it will record your video (how many cameras depends on the tier, but "only" in HD/1080 resolution). This allows you to bypass some of the potential security gotchas with Eufy.

In a nutshell: if you're invested in the Apple ecosystem, it's absolutely worth considering.

If not, well, it doesn't matter.

And, once Matter is finished and available, proprietary connections to HK won't matter (no pun intended...) that much any more.

I hadn't even noticed that, but yeah, I don't get it either. I love my Eufy cameras in HK. Honestly, I could be just fine with the Eufy app, but my wife and kids end up using them a LOT in HK. That alone makes it worth it to me.

It's been about 3 weeks since item arrived, and I decided to replace them with a Eufy Floodlight. I know return policy is 14 days, any idea how to return? Maybe without a credit for store credit?
