Anyway, in any modern Laptops and Desktops released in last 7 to 8 years, maximum Ram capacity is defined by the maximum Ram supported by the CPU and the number of available memory slots. No Companies in last 8 to 9 years are known to artificially limiting the maximum supported memory lesser than what is supported by the CPU. Normally when you see that "16GB Max" or "32GB Max" in a laptop, which is lower than the maximum supported by the CPU, those are basically the maximum memory the Company sells the laptop with, not the true maximum capacity.
