Fwiw - if you need a few yards^2 - it's MUCH cheaper to have a local nursery dump a crap ton of mulch then to buy this crap mulch - plus it's 10x better quality as well

Yep, a 25% increase. That seems to be the new norm.

I am under the impression that mulch and garden soil are totally different products.
That actually makes a lot of sense.

I have no idea why there's down votes...
You have down votes bc the person was saying Lowe's has miracle gro soil for 2.30 in response to this post having it for 2.50, hence a 20 cent better price at Lowe's. You then commented that mulch and soil are different products. While you are correct that mulch are soil are different products, your comment was baseless and implied that the Lowe's price on miracle gro soil wasn't relevant, which it indeed was. I assume you missed that part of the post, which is fine, but nevertheless its the reason you got downvoted.

Mulch listed is $1.33 a cubic foot.

Vigoro2 cu. ft. Bagged Premium Red Wood Mulch on HD is actually cheaper, at about $1.25 a cubic foot.

Yep, I used to buy this stuff until they did that a few years back. Now, there's a no-name brand that's still 2 ft2 and often goes on sale for the same price. Few things in retail anger me more than shrinkflation because it's insidious.

Is the 7 cent difference worth your time and gas?

I needed more than a few yards (6) and this "crap" was still cheaper. Tho I bought the $2 per 2 cubic feet bags at lowes last month if these are smaller maybe not.

Tbh in the Midwest this is just fine as mulch goes, I am told it Varies by region because typically it is sourced locally so ymmv.
