Some thermometers aren't calibrated correctly and may read 103 instead of 100. For babies its good to have a specific rectal one too, in hospitals they're usually red taped or marked.
i used to have a cheap one i bought at walmart very similar to this one. it lasted many years and was accurate. Now i use IR from costco. I get fever from stress often. Wanted something more portable to keep in my car.
