From what I've seen, it shouldn't have a problem. Once I have the tool in hand, I'll be able to do more real world testing for myself.
1/2 version with same torque specs vs 450ftlb

They also have the new mid-torque but I haven't seen any great deals yet there

I have the DCF921 and I believe it is similar. Should have no issue with 150ft/lb. It is rated at 450ft/lb break away. Now if the spec 150ft/lb is cross threaded it may be an issue. But I love my 921 for basic auto work.

Is there any benefit to this over a 1/4" hex impact with adapters? I have use the hex on a Walmart set of sockets and broke the socket. But also found it underpowered for automotive work. And then I smoked it just doing lumber locks

I would say yes. The Walmart sockets were probably not impact rated, that's why they broke. But this impact wrench probably has twice the ft lbs the impact driver has. So this wrench plus some impact sockets and you'll be set

Deal is showing $145 for me now on Amazon

Edit: Now I'm showing $136. Weird

I jumped on that one first until I started comparing them. The Atomic seems to be well worth the extra $23 bucks. So I went for the DCF923B.

I have the 1/2" in this size and it won't zap off the lug nuts on my 4 runner. It will do it, but they take a second

This thing is dope, I sold my 800 series 3/8 and my 1/2" 894 mid torque when I got it, its the size of the little guy and 90% of the power of the big guy. In fairness I still use the 899 for lugs because it takes them off in significantly less ugga duggas but most other things this thing is fine.

Most hex drivers are rated in in-lbs, IE divide by 12, most top out around 100 ft lbs and adapters etc significantly cut down the torque delivered to the fastener. The older compact impact driver and wrench were the same except the anvil, but I don't think there's currently a 1/4 hex that shares the motor etc with this guy. Also adapters make the tool a lot less compact. If you can't afford both a hex with adapters is usable for some tasks, but its definitely not a replacement for a wrench (which is why both continue to exist).

It'll do it, no issue. I have the 921 (1/2") version of this and I have lugs tq to 150lbs on my f150. It takes them off without even blinking. These new atomic impacts are legit. They're very small but pack a huge punch.
