Scott Pilgrim is more reminiscent to the old brawler RPGs like River City Ransom. Characters level up and gain new abilities as they progress to better deal with multiple enemies. Stages don't change in structure very much other than having different backgrounds and switching some of the types of enemies.
Castle Crashers is akin to the more difficult beat-em-ups of the old days like Battletoads and TMNT. Attacks are very basic to not have many options against dealing with multiple enemies. There are some RPG elements but they're mostly focused on increasing damage numbers. And stages will often change to include moving stages that will test players reactions as well as a heavier emphasis on stage hazards.
So which one is better depends on personal preference.

Gameplay movement is very slow. Is there a way to speed it up in settings? Same with streets of rage 4
