I have this cot and 4P coleman instant tent. Takes up a lot of space in the car but makes it so much nicer to camp. Not sleeping on floor with tracked in dirt. No waking up with a wet sleeping bag. Can store stuff under it. Much more comfortable. Closer to circulating air from windows. In a larger tent keeps people from stepping on you. Very stable. Even if air mattress deflates you still have a softer surface to sleep on. Only paid $68 in 2017. Wow inflation

Lol, c'mon if you're going to live like a vagrant for a few days, you can't go out and buy a comfortable bed....suck it up buttercup.
1. In most of the cases when I went camping you needed to do a decent hike until the camping spot, if you are willing to lug this thing along you have well earned the extra comfort.
2. If your camping trip consists of driving a car (why not a carriage if you are feeling like a vagrant btw?) and setting up camp next/close to it you are already so far from being a vagrant as to make the "sacrifice" fairly hypocritical.

Aside of added space, being off the floor also keeps you warmer.
This is actually incorrect. When using an air mattress in cold weather it's better to be directly on the ground. When elevated this allows the cold air to cool you from top and bottom.

Note that in colder weather, an air mattress (either on the ground or elevated) is terrible at keeping you warm. It actually increases the air's ability to steal your heat and is almost as bad as sleeping on bare ground. At least put a couple blankets or a sleeping pad on the air mattress first, thank me later.
A cot also has a huge benefit of being able to sit up more naturally, plus store gear underneath.

I find it much more comfortable than air mattress - yes, its bulky but so is this - have used it in freezing temps OK
