Great, great movie. I was lucky enough to see it in a real theater, when it came out. You really have to crank up the sound in the climactic Pickett's Charge scene, which was partly shot by camera drone IIRC, 30 years ago. Look for Ted Turner among the extras. I've since seen it many times on video. Bravo to the people who made this for letting it run so long as it was a 3 day battle and there's so much to cover, and it treats each day properly. The initial battles, taking of opposing hills and forming of lines, Little Round Top, the Peach Orchard, and finally the ill-fated charge, a massive mistake that basically turned the tide against the south. I wish someone made a similar movie about the battle of Vicksburg, which took place at the same time and was also a huge northern victory.

Extended cut? How isn't four and half hours enough? Anyone else remember when this aired on TNT once a year?

FYI, If you have a chase credit card check if you have a 3 off 3 offer on Prime Video.
I have it on Chase Sapphire Preferred and a No Rush credit of $1.5.
Combining both would allow me to get this movie for 50 cents + taxes.
I was thinking about saving it for Braveheart 4k but Braveheart is currently included in Prime Membership anyway.
