That's why they are measured by weight, not the amount of air. They purposely put air into chip bags to protect them from being broken, crushed, etc. This isn't anything new and UTZ is not the only company that does this, they all do.

Great, must be why after ordering the party mix from the last deal, there are full size chips in there, no bits and pieces, even in a fun sized bag like these. Awesome!

Got a "family" size bag of wavy lays and the entire bag was just broken little chunks of chips. Not enough air, what a waste.

This is why I buy on weight vs how big the bag looks.

On topic, the snack mix is great. Possibly the best snack mix type I have had. Never had heard of Utz until the last deal and people said the same thing, so I ordered. Glad I did, big chips and great flavor in these little bags.

I bought this, I eat (too many) chips and find these unpleasantly salty. that in itself is portion control.

Nerd fact - we'd actually really like to put less air in the bags. Think about it - less film, more per carton, reduced freight = savings for the company. This is going to sound crazy, but with really light products like this, when they first come out of the tube, they're actually completely full. It's only after they go through the vibration of the supply chain that the product starts to settle and they look emptier.

Glad you liked 'em. We really try - we're constantly pressured to have the Frito sizes of bags, but product quality is king. More salt + oil will also let them squeeze in, but then you lose some of that fresher taste.

If you're ever in central PA and find your way to the Utz Factory outlet, you'd be in heaven! Just snagged a few big boxes of their Golden Flake pork rinds for $1.00; the barrels are generally priced around $2 if not less.

I know, I know, that's impossible for most. If you ever need a hookup on cheap Utz snacks I live less than a minute from the factory and outlet store 😁

Check expiration date on these. I've purchased before and they "expired" a month after delivery

I just got my box of cheese curls

Expiration date is: Oct 10 2022

YMMV as they may come from random warehouses. But in my case at least they are not just dumping almost expired product.
