$50 more than the last sale at Costco, but good enough - just ordered one. Only available in silver, no space grey.
I actually bought the 512GB 13.3" MacBook Pro at Costco just a few days ago and I got several system warnings already about the memory being full while importing photos and running a few other normal apps (email, safari, music). The photos app also crashed a few times. I read/saw in various reviews that 8GB is plenty, but I disagree and will return it. The difference in cost is $560 after tax at the current sales prices ($1250 vs $1800), which is quite a bit, but whatever - looking forward to 16 GB and the better display.
What do you guys think, sale for these items can indicate there would be a new MacBook coming ?
The Macbook Air with the upcoming M2 chip is rumored to be coming out in 2022 (It's also rumored just to be dropping the "Air" moniker). So far there is no rumored Macbook Pros being released in 2022.

Was the "Air" supposed to signify the lightness as the defining trait?

Doubt it tbh, they just redesigned the MB Pro last October and rumors suggest it'll be the MB Air that will get a redesign this year. If anything, we'll see an "M2 Pro" chip or something added, but I think getting the current M1 Pro model is still a great deal
I do need a new Mac as my 2016 is a little sluggish these days, but waiting for the mini LED screen without a notch. I can't stand the notch on my iPhone, and don't want it on my almost $2000 laptop. There are some very funny videos out there of the issues it has caused in some programs. I know there are some programs that help this out, for this price I don't want to use work around.

Is there any reason why Costco would have them but not apple.com? I'm just wondering if these will actually ship this week.
Thanks.

Edit: no sale at Micro Center as of yet, and brand new item is sold out.
