Overall Supercharger is meant to be used for trips and is still cheaper than GAS but this argument of having to wait 20 minutes to charge is not really a case for 99% of days as my car never drivers more than 100 miles on any regular days and comes home at night to charge back up. I feel like fueling up and waiting for the tank to fill up is a longer wait than charging my tesla at home. Also waiting in line as a Costco Gas station would be way more than the 20 minutes. Its also not for everyone, Same trip in a modern SUV would cost me about $150 for gas with current Gas prices at $6.29 a gallon.(91-Oct)

Tesla M3LR has 82kwh battery in Virginia at 12c/kWh it could cost $9.84 for full battery, in California at 26 c/kwh could be $21. Others charge free at work (me), free at apartment complex, have membership plans, supercharge only, etc. etc.
Usually the average person saves a lot on gas and leaves house with full charge. IMO after getting used to charging, it's so simple and routine.
If you mean from <20% to 80%, about 15-20 minutes if car is preconditioned. It's a walk to restroom, get a cup of coffee, and a few minutes to scroll-length of time.

If you are using a 150kW V2 Supercharger that is shared with another Tesla (which happens VERY often on weekends or weekday commuter hours).. or a 72kW V1 Supercharger then it will be more like 30-45 mins to go to 80%. So the more truthful answer of how long it takes to go from 20% to 80%.. is at least 20mins.. but as much as 45mins. Again this all depends on which Supercharger you use, if charging is being shared with another Tesla, and exactly how much current is flowing.

It clearly points out the car went from 0 to 20% in 6mins. And from 20% to 80% in 26mins.
This is a 2021 Model 3 LR Dual-Motor.. so much for that tasteless "hurr durr durr.. your 9 year old Model S is so old" joke. It was also tested when it was 90 degrees outside, so preconditioning the battery isn't a question. Most importantly it does show that this same test conducted on a slightly older 2019 M3LR dual motor was a bit faster.. as the newer 2021 car only allows the max 250kW rate for 3mins.. where as the older 2019 car allows it for 6mins. Interesting to see the older car, actually has the faster charging curve. I'm guessing Tesla has found 250kW charging sucks for battery health.. and that is why the maximum rate is limited even more on the newer Model 3LR.
Anyways.. Using ABRP and living on the East coast where Superchargers are abundant.. I aim to arrive at Supercharger with less than 10% to maximize charging speed and shorten charging time. I go from 10% to 50% in about 12mins.. 10% to 65% in about 17mins. I really don't bother charging past 65% unless it's absolutely necessary, simply because the fastest way to reach your destination (as long as Superchargers are available).. is to drive faster, but stop to charge a little more often.
I log ALL my drives with Teslamate (TeslaFi competitor).. so its pretty easy for me to go back and pull any charging stat.
They are using cheaper packs from CATL and LG in most of their cars and the same cooling system. The Tech has not changed, the warranty has.

Bjorn Nyland has tested more EVs in real world, long distance conditions than most people know even exist. In the description he has a google drive doc that has stats for all kinds of interesting things, including charging times, and even something like the Etron will charge faster from 20-80% in 30 minutes under some pretty cold conditions.

Second, literally two days ago I received 40 kWh from a v3 supercharger in 21 minutes. For my 3-year old Model 3 with 7% degradation (meaning the battery capacity is 93% of 75kWh, or roughly 70kWh), that's 57% charge for those 21 minutes. I remember setting the cap at 83%, so it was a 26-83%. So a 20-80% should be almost exactly 20 minutes, maybe even a little less. The Model 3s and newer benefit from the "higher than 150kW" tier up until about 60%.
So yes, 15-20 min charge time for 20%-80% is best case, but certainly doable and in fact something I see more often than not by letting the onboard navigation plan the route.
