I don't think it's actually expired as SD claims and it was showing $350 for me.

HP: IPS, higher refresh, flat
I had the LG for a couple months. it's a fine monitor for most uses, but had too much ghosting and black smearing for gaming purposes.
I'm not sure about the color gamut & accuracy on both panels, but if it's for gaming, I'd go for the HP.
for watching movies in a dark room, I'd go with the LG.
