This is (almost) an all-time low, according to CCC. Normally these sell well over $40. Also, you can't even get a bargain on these from Amazon.de in Germany... and that's before the $15 + Amazon Germany shipping prices. Good deal on these particular pliers. I'm not aware of any HFT knock-off to these, either.

Wondering if there is a common use case, not just a general "anytime when you think you might need them", for these? I am a hobbyist Jack of all trades, and just wondering if I'd ever use them. Any insight is appreciated.

You can often get by without special tools like bent nose pliers, but having them can make some jobs a heckuvalot easier and faster.

For example, disconnecting/reconnecting various sensor wires in a washing machine where a straight pair of pliers can't quite get there without a little more disassembly, but these can get the job done.

Lots of potential under the hood and under the dash applications as well.

If you have never found your straight nose pliers to be inadequate for what it is that you work on, then I'd skip these. When/if you find yourself in a situation where normal pliers are a challenge, then get a pair like these and you'll have some real appreciation for what they can do.

This price still seems exorbitant to me... but I don't like paying more than $10 for shirts either so I guess I'm cheap Big Grin

I just finished a job installing a transmission cooler on my van. These would be very handy for the OEM hose clamp clips. I'm sure there are other great uses for them too.

Thanks. I ordered… rather have these on hand and be able to finish a project vs stopping and waiting to come in. According to ccc, this is within $1.60 of the lowest it has ever been.

Yes, this is special tool. You only need it in some special cases where you could not use straight one.

After studying the picture of them, I'm guessing they'd be great for removing nose-hairs.

These are my ALL TIME FAVORITE needle nose plyers. I never realized how good they were until I had them. I reach for these over my straight nose plyers 10 times more. I really love them. The KNIPEX brand are so well made you will be spoiled.
This price is great.

I have some special long nose pliers already. But for a hobby mechanic buying all shapes as Knipex pliers would be kind of pricey. I have good quality standard pliers and cheap special pliers. IMO it's better to have more shapes than fewer better quality ones.
