Also, you can't even get a bargain on these from Amazon.de in Germany... and that's before the $15 + Amazon Germany shipping prices. Good deal on these particular pliers. I'm not aware of any HFT knock-off to these, either.

For example, disconnecting/reconnecting various sensor wires in a washing machine where a straight pair of pliers can't quite get there without a little more disassembly, but these can get the job done.
Lots of potential under the hood and under the dash applications as well.
If you have never found your straight nose pliers to be inadequate for what it is that you work on, then I'd skip these. When/if you find yourself in a situation where normal pliers are a challenge, then get a pair like these and you'll have some real appreciation for what they can do.
I just finished a job installing a transmission cooler on my van. These would be very handy for the OEM hose clamp clips. I'm sure there are other great uses for them too.
