It's not a warranty, it's a return policy. You can return it if you're not satisfied with your purchase. If it dies in 20 years and you return it you're an asshole.

I'm aware of that. So after I selected "What are you having trouble with?", "What's the issue?", "Where are you seeing it?", "Describe your issue", it gave me two options, "Troubleshoot your Xbox controller", and "Use the virtual agent".

And the "virtual agent" doesn't understand I need a human, lol. I really hate this new support site.

During their business hours, try Trouble = Hardware & Network, Issue = Console or Device won't turn on, then Where see it = Series X. It worked for me recently.

Is console sold by costco still considered a toy instead of electronics?

Anyone knows how to contact Microsoft to have my Xbox serviced with a fee? After 1.5 years of service, my Xbox Series X starts to disconnect my controller from time to time. I tried to contact but the Xbox support website keeps letting me select problems and doesn't give me a human contact option.

I really don't want to be a jerk who returns the console to costco after 1.5 years...

Not a lot of them do anymore and Costco doesn't accept all credit cards (unless that changed?) so it's hard to take advantage of that.

Costco Citi Card actually adds 2 years to warranty. So 3 years total. But it's no longer offered unless you're grandfathered.

Maybe it is just not advertised? I had another citi card applied last August, and that card also offers 24 months extended warranty, so I thought all citi cards do that.

If you scroll to the bottom of https://www.citi.com/credit-cards...conversion and click "Consumer Card Guide to Protection Benefits". The guide still shows the extended warranty.

They accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover on their website. Some no-fee Chase cards still add a year to the standard warranty. I'll typically use my Prime (Visa) or Freedom Flex (Mastercard) cards to make expensive electronic purchases to +1 the warranty.

I'm not so much into the idea of obtaining a Costco credit card for that purpose because the overall Citi experience just hasn't been great for me over the years compared to the other card providers.
