I picked up a Sterling by Music Man StingRay Ray4HH Electric Bass Chopper Blue $299.99. First the picture on the website is off. It's a UNC Tarheels blue. I upgraded from a Garry GP and I'm truly pleased. The setup out the box was near perfect and it sounds amazing.

I'd normally recommend someone pick up one of the Cort muciman replicas over the Sterling's, but this is just too simple. It certainly is a pretty good beginner bass for $250.

Look at local classifieds first though. You can buy $600 guitars for $250 all day long in metro areas.

I have an ernie ball sting ray4HH from early 2000s. Broke my wrist multiple times so it's too painful to play but it's just too damn beautiful of a bass to sell

I watched the lead singer of MxPx give his away at a show to a girl in the crowd who asked for it. Cool guy for sure, but that chick didn't deserve it.

Mxpx is the best! I play a Musicman Stingray because of Mike, wish his signature series bass wasn't 2.6k...

Thanks, I needed this.
Gotta sell two instruments for every new one I buy.... That's the rule in effect.

Is it just me, or is the used Bass Guitar market better than regular guitar. I've been playing regular for a decade and am no looking into Bass (just got an amp, backwards i know)...Now I need a guitar. It seems the used 6-string market holds value more than the used 4-string Bass market. Is this the case? I'm new to Bass.
