Samsung has their Serif TV's on sale if you have an EDU or EPP account. The 43" is $400, the 55" is $550, and the 65" is $750.

In previous comments, someone was comparing to Q60 orQ70.

The serif follows the specs of the 2020 Q70T, but more closely matches The Frame 2020 in style. Use RTINGS reviews of the Q70T and Frame 2020 to approximate the performance of this model. Overall it is a EXTEMELY good TV for the price, especially so if you assign any value to it's stand and aesthetic.

a good deal if you can get it to work. No VESA support - you cannot hang it on the wall!
Serif follows 2020 model The Frame specs, meaning 43" is 60hz and no VRR. Also likely to have a much worse panel overall in terms of contrast, brightness.
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...ifferences

I suggest 55" and up, the 43 is really not a good deal because it's a much worse TV, when the 55 is $550, it's an incredible deal for an incredible TV. One of the ONLY 4k120VRR TVs with amazing (5000+) true native contrast and good black uniformity. Meaning none of the downsides of OLED (burn in, low brightness) and none of the downsides of local dimming (blooming, detail crush, poor response time)

The only other TVs that exist that match this spec are Frame 2020-2022 over 55", and Q70A over 55". All of which cost quite a bit more.
The Frame's One Connect box can be seen as a upside, or a downside, as it has an expensive proprietary cable, and needs a place to put the box.

Truly the best deal I've seen on a TV fit for Movies, TV, Gaming, or Monitor use. The design is a plus or minus depending on taste, but for those who like the look, it will never get better than this. Get the 55" or 65", the 43" is built differently and not nearly as good.
You might want to give him one more chance. Even if he broke your TV he is still yours.

"Place The Serif anywhere in the room. It comes with an elegant easel stand that perfectly pairs with its stylish frame. Perfect for smaller spaces, the option to remove its legs makes it all the more versatile."

Tried 3 different browsers and mobile, all the same $799 price. Oh well. Maybe EDU differs from Gov't this time
