I enjoyed John Carter a lot but I was also a big fan of the books. They are a great easy short read for those interested.

Not sure if some of you knew....but the author of John Carter is the same person who wrote the Tarzan books.

It's a good sci-fi movie. I think it didn't do so well in the box office because most people had no clue what movie titled "John Carter" would be about.
Also, I wish it were 4K...

There were some parts that were poorly done, and it was a production mistake to give the movie such a high budget, but it was not a bad movie.
If they had spent that same budget to make *two* movies instead of just one it wouldn't have gotten such bad press for being a bomb, and they would've focused more on the story instead of trying to make it an eye-dazzling treat.
It's too bad because I think I would've enjoyed a trilogy

I very, very much doubt John Carter will ever get the 4K treatment. It lost $200 million at the box office, and it never became a hit on home video. It would be a huge waste waste of money to upgrade.

It isn't worth the time to watch it if you actually care about anything other than visual effects. Take away the CGI and this film has nothing to offer.

I got it on 3D blu-ray at a thrift store (as a 3D collector with a large OLED TV).

Wouldn't buy a digital HD version for $1.

John Carter was internally sabotaged at Disney because of a change in executives and it having been made under the previous regime.

It's otherwise a fine movie but that's the main reason it got buried. They didn't even attempt to advertise it so it lost a ton of money and that's the main reason it was considered a bomb.

All three are excellent movies, and I own them. Just purchased John Carter. Sad John Carter didn't do better, great movie. Can't wait to watch it again, I hope it gets. 4K upgrade.

Problem with John Carter is the title itself ruining everything. It's a watchable flick nevertheless.
