I researched hammering techniques before and these claw hammer styles are better than the common rounded end hammers for actual use. It's better balance and force direction.

Just an fyi for everyone else who never knew there was a difference.

Its a framing hammer, the ones with the rounded heads are for finishing. Keep that in mind if you plan on using your hammer for finishing, as this one is more likely to damage your surface.

Definitely not a framing hammer. Smooth face, fiberglass, too light weight (16oz). I guess that's what makes it "general purpose". Jack of all trades, master of none.

The worst hammer ever that literally injured me. The handle is trash.

This is a fine hammer, and you would not be laughed off the job site if you brought this vs a more curved claw hammer. On occasion, you may want to use the straight claw to split a board, or dig out a nail (in demolition for example). You may also use the straighter claw to pry out nailes in a side-to-side motion. I'd rather use this hammer around the house rather than a framing hammer with a waffle head. Much more versatile.

Adversely- I'm guessing it doesn't have a very good anti-vibration as most cheap quality hammers? Or does it?
