The Epic store version doesn't have access to steam workshop, and I would say the mods the community makes takes the game to another level. Totally worth the $1 to get the Steam version if you don't want to get all the DLCs. You can manually download mods for the Epic version and maintain them but its a huge pain once you get past a few hundred mods/assets.
Ah, man, OP, so tempting. The base game ate so much of my time. Now they have a VR version - too bad it's not in this package.
BTW, check your Epic libraries before purchasing just the base game, because it was free at some point.
Be careful with this game. You can make a poor decision to stay up "a little longer" to work on something like your highway system, or improve your public transit routes, and the next thing you know it'll be 2AM and you have to work in the morning.

The VR version was done by a different developer, it's just the base game, it does not support any mods or add-ons, and it is mostly hated or dismissed by redditors in the cities skylines subreddit.
But yeah, this is a good package. Just $20 for all DLCs (except for the most recent one, Airports), is a great price.

Hmmm. Weird. Did they license out the base game to a 3rd party developer? Well, maybe they'll eventually allowing modding to the VR game. Who knows. I haven't played a Demo or anything. The game is addictive enough without VR - just crazy addictive. I dropped SimCity immediately when I first played it.
The fluid dynamics are great in this game. I had all my water intakes above my dam. I wanted to redevelop the whole area, so I paused the game (to avoid water shortages), and reinstalled them elsewhere. When I unpaused the game, what was essentially a man made tsunami developed above the dam (since the intakes were accounting for so much water being drawn in - that suddenly stopped), and it completely overtook the entire damn. LOL. It flooded my entire downtown, and separate industrial island. I couldn't stop laughing.

So either way it's a pretty epic bargain.
