hard to recommend this when we are 1.5-2 months away from the next one, i'd wait even if you dont have plans to get the 6, these will probably be cheaper

How thick is this junt? I usually put my phones one in each back pocket.
I had the 4 with flip case it still ft the back pocket , my problem was the weight , magnet holder could not hold it and most of the time outdoor I was using it folded and the screen was very small for me to type , I moved to s ultra again
i had the fold 3 and been waiting for it to get skinnier. so far all the upgrades was very minimal in my opinion so not worth upgrading. i'm waiting to see if the fold 6 has made significant improvement.
I have a fold 4 and the trade in value would be $800 which is pretty good. but I think there will be more deals for the Fold 5 in the upcoming month or two when they want to start clearing them out just before the 6 arrives. They're not in desperate mode yet.

My Fold 4 screen just cracked down the middle when I opened it last week after only 20 months of extremely light usage. It's a dedicated work phone so mostly sits on my desk. Terribly disappointing for such expensive tech.

Regular screens still have defects, what do you expect?? Regular iPhones had green screens, lines, etc. some Samsung phones get pink or other odd lines, black dots and so on. This tech is probably 10 years from durability.
You can just buy a used fold4 for $400. Fold3 is under $300 often if you check hard enough.
Not to engage the troll here, but when the interior screen on the Fold 4 cracked, all touch stops working. When an iPhone or Samsung phone gets line or crack, it still works.
For $1800 I expect a phone used only occasionally to work for at least 2 years. You're saying exactly my point - this tech is far from prime time.
