Thank you for being that guy. I've been looking for a deal for a QHD IPS 32" gaming monitor. I learned that if it doesn't say IPS in the description, it's 99% of the time not IPS. But it never says VA…

Anyone know if the dimming zones are the same on the ips as the VA panels? The odyssey line is supposed to produce the best blacks next to a mini led or OLED.

VA generally has better blacks than IPS in the budget sector.

I have the G55T version, which is 144hz instead of 165hz, but basically everything else is the same.

90% of the games I play look fine, but there are 10% of games that have crazy ghosting/smearing/blur (ex. Atomic Heart), especially during dark scenes. The contrast ratio and colors are good, it's just the fast motion, especially during dark scenes that gets ghosting/smearing.

I did play RE4 Remake, but I don't remember it being bad in that game. Atomic Heart was like a crazy outlier that was basically unplayable. All other games I don't notice it.
