This is nothing new. Any "outlet" or "factory" store typically differs from the regular retail store. Most of the items are made for the outlet stores and quality is a step down. Operations are different. Think of it as another Gap branch/brand, such as Banana Republic and Old Navy.

Gap and Gap FX are 2 different brands & divisions; their systems are not connected -- so if you were to return an item to Gap store, the associate would not have access to the product information/SKU. Prior to the pandemic, returns for Factory orders was a huge dissatisfier because customers were responsible for the cost of sending back the item or drive to a Factory Store location.
