Metro by T-Mobile Corporate Stores have 64GB Apple iPhone 11 (Black) on sale for $99.99 after instant $400 automatic rebate when you Port-In a number to a new line on a $40 or higher Metro prepaid plan. A one-time $20 activation fee applies.

Thanks to community member JollyFaucet507 finding this deal.

  2. Port-in a non-T-Mobile/T-Mobile-based MVNO (i.e. Mint Mobile) number to a new line on Metro's $40/month (or higher) prepaid plan
    • Number must not have been active on the T-Mobile network within the past 180 days.
  3. Purchase 64GB Apple iPhone 11 at sign-up for $99.99 (applicable sales tax will be due at time of sign-up)

  4. Price: $99.99 (phone) + 1-month of the $40 prepaid plan + $20 activation fee = $159.99 total + tax
Notes:
  • You may cancel at any time or change your service to a different plan option at any time, if desired.
  • No service contract (only the initial $40 / 1st month required to get the device at $99.99).
  • Device can be unlocked after 180 consecutive days (6 months) of paid service on Metro.

Similar to https://slickdeals.net/f/15631606-metro-in-store-port-in-w-60-plan-activation-apple-iphone-11-100?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1 but now price increased to $100, no more 3 months waiting for a $50 gift card and minimum plan seems to be $40/month instead of $60/month.

and before anyone ask....

to have phone unlock in 180 days (6 months)

u need to have activated the phone 180 days ago.

u do not. repeat do NOT have to pay for service for 180 days.

the above has been true for most every metro deal in the past.
it is extremely likely true for this deal as well

The sim won’t work in any other phone without contacting Metro. Probably won’t affect unlock.

How long until phone is unlocked?

Turns out it's 6 months for the phone to be unlocked. I'll pass.
These deals are useless unless you have a corporate store nearby.
Metro is a dirtball company. They hire scammy people who are trained to try shady stuff all of the time. Even the corporate stores have become shady. Stay away from these scammers and give your money to a more reputable company rather than these POS losers.

Usually I agree but there is one local store near me that is not corporate and they do not charge the $20 activation fee. I suggest people call their local store before going there. I know it's easier said than done, as I've tried and many of the stores don't answer their phones.

Authorized dealers are a hit or miss. Mostly misses but there have been few success stories here.

Corporate is ideal though. Anyone that has a corporate store nearby should definitely give it a try.

The question is whether they will allow the $40 plan with this deal. We need some confirmation .

Guess T-Mobile is trying to get rid of them and have a lot of them based on giving them away on Sprint also

If NYTurbo was currently working, I might consider getting this then doing an unofficial lock through them... but even still, this is a phone that came out almost 3 years ago. Not sure the value is there.

I think it is. The iphone 11 through total/tracfone is still $300.

I was just there literally a few hours ago, I was given the old promo. At first when I got there I just asked about the iPhone 11 without mentioning any sort of promo, the salesperson(corporate store) was telling me about the same thing as the OP($40 line $99 iPhone) but before I had to pay the Manager told him that I needed to be on the $60 plan or else I wont get the $400 rebate and just get $100 rebate on the Phone, he actually showed his screen as he was processing the Sale, I wasn't aware of this current promo and was there to get the old promo so I didn't argue. and got the iPhone11 for $100+$60line+$12 insurance

Never had to deal with Metro before.
I don't have any corporate stores close by. Could you, folks, explain what the issues with the authorized dealer stores are and how I can possibly mitigate them?
