Called my store here in Bay Area, no stock and need to wait 1-2 weeks. So $99 with port in and minimum $60 plan and that will push the price up to $180 + $10 for reactivating my Tracfone line to port out. Miss Totalwireless with the refurbished deal in the past for $99… should have stocked up on the iPhone 11 for trading in (worth $220 to $800 currently if you getting newer cell phones and tablets).

Yes! They don't care about carrier unlock.

Corp stores in Dallas wants to have the number you are trying to port active and on a phone that you have and they will call and see if it is a working number. Then they also charge $10 for sim and activation. MetroPCS is shady and a real pain the rear to deal with but they are also getting smarter because many of the employees are also on here and seeing the pattern of people bringing ebay number etc which is not even a sim. I guess better to get the Total wireless as you can unlock after 60 days. Price was about the same.

I purchased 2 back in February, iPhone 11

they unlocked just fine.
I only purchased one month of service for each back in February
Did you leave in the original MetroPCS SIM the whole time? Also, on day 180 or whatever, did it just become unlocked simply by being connected to Wi-Fi? Thx

I left mine in the entire time and it unlocked automatically through wifi on day 180.

Although I remember reading that it doesn't need to be in at all times. You just can't port the number out or else it won't unlock.

Thank you for your reply. I got the deal in late-June and mine is slated to unlock in late-December. I have left the original MetroPCS SIM in the phone this whole time and it's just connected via Wi-Fi (only paid for one month of the $60 plan).

Hope mine unlocks, but we'll see. I can report back.

lots of stories that say

this & this & this will work and
this & this & this willl NOT work

with all the permutations in between.

best plan: = dont complicate things.
get the 1 m service.
make a call or 2 every 5-7 days.
leave sim in.
stick in drawer.
or use as wi fi device.

check day 180.
cross your fingers

Metro deals are nearly useless. Corporate near me also charging for activation fees and redirects to buy from local store as they do not reveal stock and always OOS, and all nearby dealer would charge full tax, activation, simcard, insurance... forget about it.
