Don't know why but if you are looking at accessories I would rate that up there with one of the better ones to buy. Doesn't take up muck room in the fridge either. Seems expensive for what it is, but it does work much better.
The only real essentials are a wooden peel (for building and inserting pies) and a metal peel (for turning and extraction). Wet dough will stick bad to metal. Wooden peels are too thick to easily get under cooking pies.
I will also recommend pizza screens. You're going to be slow building pies to start. If you put the dough on a screen you can practice the motions at your own pace and not worry about the dough sticking to the peel. Otherwise, pressure is on to build fast, build light, and nail your hydration. overloaded pies aren't as big a deal, either. And if you have younger kids making their own pies, screens become essential.
Build pie on screen. Insert into oven. Once the dough is set, use metal peel to get pizza off the screen and onto the stone. The end result is a crust a tad softer than going right on the stone and most people wouldn't notice the difference. For kids, they'll probably like the softer crust that comes with using a screen the entire cook.
I also use a dredge shaker to sprinkle flour. Makes it really easy to get an even application. They're cheap and really handy, though not really essential. You can always unevenly apply flour by hand.
EDIT: I should have said that a scale is essential to making dough. Measuring dry ingredients by volume is imprecise and it will cause you to have inconsistent results. Look up the Americas Test Kitchen list and buy one of their recommendations.

Free shipping doesn't kick in until $89, but if you're getting other Ooni items, some are also 20% off there as well.
I'm not sure why it worked better for me. I made a large batch of Biga and then divided it all up into 6 equal portions to be refrigerated. Put 3 in the Ooni Stack and 3 in small glass pyrex bowls. The 3 in the pyrex bowls were not that great. They stayed flatter and weren't as easy to work with. The ones in the Ooni stack were able to spread out (maybe because the bottom is flat on those?) They just rose really nice and seemed so much easier to work with. Maybe the glass with the bamboo lid is a better seal for my fridge? I'm just not sure.
I bought another Ooni Stack from this sale so I don't have to use pyrex/plastic wrap anymore and can store all 6 doughs in a small space in the fridge now.
I watch Vito Iacopelli's channel. He does a "one shot" launch that I have tried to copy. No sticking. He also showed how to make Biga dough which is my preferred method now.

Im thinking on getting that and the Onni Stack.
Even folks who tout the Ooni ovens seem to be using other tools on many YT channels. I noticed alot of people using the Rockbox turner instead of Ooni.
